PELABO is a registered Afghan energy company (license # 116781/42623) composed of experts and practitioners with a long history of successful operations in Afghanistan. For the past 30 years, members of our team have been involved in a wide variety of engineering, construction, and logistic and humanitarian projects. We have achieved remarkable results, despite the many challenges and difficult conditions the country has faced and continues to face. The complexity of the situation in Afghanistan has never prevented us from working, and our management team has successfully implemented projects in most of the 34 provinces of the country. With our stellar track record and extensive experience, Pelabo is uniquely positioned to help secure Afghanistan’s future by using our expertise to help develop and expand its energy capabilities.
Afghanistan has huge potential as a producer of renewable and clean energy, as compared with its relatively modest energy needs. Situated at the crossroads of Central and South Asia, Afghanistan also has the potential to become the nexus for the transmission of electricity from energy-rich Central Asian countries to the energy-deficient countries of South Asia. Its unique location and abundant resources offers Afghanistan the opportunity to become a major electricity producer to meet its own needs and supplier for its South Asian neighbors, who are desperately in need of additional power.
We at Pelabo believe that developing the energy sector in Afghanistan would not only contribute to poverty reduction, economic growth and prosperity, but also will help supply the energy needs in the region. We believe that energy as a strategic commodity can create interdependency among countries and leads to cooperation in other fields, and conflicts are more likely to be solved peacefully, based on an approach centered on benefit sharing.
Our team brings 30 years of local, regional and international experience and knowledge in developing, planning and implementing complex infrastructure projects across the country. Our assets, in addition to our technical expertise, include a superior network of human resources, extensive local knowledge and connections and links to the community, a comprehensive understanding of security issues, and a commitment to undertaking work even in the most challenging areas of Afghanistan.
Our goal is to play a key role in the development of sustainable energy sector in Afghanistan, including hydro, solar, wind, biomass and natural gas. We operate independently and in partnerships with international partners interested in pursuing energy projects in Afghanistan, where our connections and know- how can facilitate even the most challenging projects and help ensure their successful completion.
